Indian Air Force and Drone Federation of India to cohost Bharat Drone Shakti 2023 on 25-26 September at Hindon Airbase, Ghaziabad

Drone technology enhances user capabilities while reducing the risk of exposure and inaccessibility due to geographic conditions. Drones are being used extensively in both civil and defence sectors. IAF uses remotely piloted drones for Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance operations. For civilian use, there are a huge variety of drones, e.g., agricultural, survey, firefighting, traffic management, tactical surveillance, heavy-lift logistics drones, etc. Drone Swarms are extremely popular for display purpose (successfully used in public functions, sporting events, etc.). UIDAI has leveraged AI and ML technology on its Aadhaar identity platform to improve Facial Recognition facility

Under its “Reimagine Aadhaar” initiative, UIDAI has successfully used the AI and ML engines on its Aadhaar platform to strengthen its Face Authentication facility. The new technology has multiple applications in the fintech world, such as enhanced customer acquisition at banks, improved attendance registration of NREGA beneficiaries. Recently, UIDAI worked closely with Airtel Payments Bank to improve the resident experience for face authentication. This advanced technology was showcased in the Global Fintech Festival 2023 held at Mumbai; it will have useful application in the banking industry to detect and prevent fraud in financial transactions.

Government aims to enable 2 crore “Lakhpati Didis” among the village level Women Self Help Groups under the livelihood mission of MoRD

To economically empower women, SHG households covered by National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) are encouraged to take up multiple livelihood activities resulting in a sustainable income of Rupees One Lakh or more per year. It has 4 major objectives: To promote (i) self-managed financially sustainable SHGs among rural poor, (ii) sustainable livelihood, (iii) financial inclusion, and (iv) social mobilization of the poor. It covers 7091 Blocks in 742 Districts across India. Nearly 1.07 lakh women trained to work as Banking Correspondents Sakhi/Digipay Sakhi to provide banking support to communities in remote areas. 2.45 lakh rural entrepreneurs have also been supported under Start up Village Entrepreneurship Program (SVEP).
