· Ravi Ashwin won the best international cricketer of the year award for the 2nd time in his career · Ravi Shastri and Farokh Engineer won the Lifetime Achievement Awards 

 · India Women’s cricketers Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur also won awards 

 · Ashwin won the Dilip Sardesai Award for finishing as the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket - 2022-23 (India vs West Indies). Ashwin also won the Polly Umrigar Award for best international cricketer of the year for the second time in his career.

All-Women Tri-Services contingent taking part in Republic Day parade

An all-women-tri-services contingent will for the first time take part in the Republic Day parade, Major General Sumit Mehta said on Tuesday.

“For the first time, an all-woman tri-services contingent will take part in the parade, which will include women’s troops of the army’s military police along with women from the navy and air force,” Mehta said. The 75th Republic Day Parade will, for the 1st time, feature an all-women tri-services contingent, including women from the Army's military police and other services.

Cameroon Malaria Vaccine Program

Cameroon will be the first country to routinely give children a new malaria vaccine as the shots are rolled out in Africa. The campaign due to start Monday was described by officials as a milestone in the decades-long effort to curb the mosquito-spread disease on the continent, which accounts for 95% of the world’s malaria deaths. “The vaccination will save lives. It will provide major relief to families and the country’s health system,” said Aurelia Nguyen, chief program officer at the Gavi vaccines alliance, which is helping Cameroon secure the shots.

Aarogya Maitri Disaster Management Cube-BHISHM

· It is a cube which will function as world’s first portable hospital. This cube is a part of the broader initiative named “Project BHISHM” – Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita and Maitri to develop a world-class disaster hospital. 

 · It is tailored to treat up to 200 casualties, emphasizing rapid response and comprehensive care. It integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics to facilitate effective coordination, real-time monitoring, and efficient management of medical services in the field. 

 The Aid Cube is equipped with several innovative tools such as a mini-ICU, an operation theatre, cooking station, food, water, a power generator, blood test equipment, an X-ray machine, and more, designed to enhance disaster response and medical support during emergencies. The whole unit contains 72 easily transportable components that can be conveniently carried by hand, cycle, or even drone, providing unmatched flexibility.
